Sometimes a movie comes along that I really connect with, and Dan in Real Life is just that movie. Even though Dan and I have very little in common as in our profession or family. Steve Carell plays Dan, a widower still misses his wife but falls in love with his brothers new girlfriend played by Juliette Binoche. Dan tries his hardest not to reveal his love for her to the rest of the family. But in the end he can not deny his love for her. Everyone in this movie gives a good performance and you would think with Steve Carell and Dane Cook this would be a comedy but it is not. There are some funny part but it is mostly a drama. This also proves my point I made in my review of Simple Twist of Fate, put a good comic in a dramatic role and you might have something good and this is another example. Dan in Real Life is a good romantic drama/comedy. Rent it and if you like it buy it. Enjoy
